What we found during the analysis was that there was one in / out box for orders coming into
engineering. They had one process and treated all orders the same. What we found was the majority of
orders did not require all of the steps, but still had to wait in line while orders with the most complex
engineering tasks were being completed. We decided to classify the orders based on the criteria below.
The code letters would be placed on the front of the order numbers to signify order type.
